The Sill
The Sill
  • Price Range: $5+
  • Delivery Options: No same-day delivery, but there are physical locations in New York, Los Angeles and San Francisco.
  • Pros: A plant is a longer-lasting gift, quick shipping, effective packaging, plants arrive healthy, high quality planters/pots, solid variety of seasonal and staple plants.
  • Cons: Likely pricier than what you would pay at a local plant shop, better for plant than flower options.

The Sill doesn’t offer your typical bouquet, but it is a leading brand in potted plants, which make equally great gifts and can last exponentially longer than a bundle of roses. The Sill carries live and faux plants from desk-sized varieties to larger floor plants. They do, however, have seasonal flowering plants and bouquets. Both of our testers noted that the plants arrived unharmed, thanks to effective packaging and quick shipping. If your mom has a green thumb, then there's no question that this is the option for you.

Venus Et Fleur

Venus et Fleur
  • Price Range: $44+
  • Delivery Options: Ships internationally with physical locations in New York, New Jersey, California and Pennsylvania.
  • Pros: Lasts as long as a year, little to no maintenance, lots of color/size/shape options.
  • Cons: Limited flower options if you don't want roses, simple designs, on the expensive side.

If you don't want to waste your money on a bouquet that will wilt in a week, then Venus Et Fleur's Eternity Flowers are definitely the way to go. The seller's flowers are essentially dehydrated, dyed and preserved to last up to a year with little maintenance — no watering or sunlight — you'll just need to do some light dusting now and then. The prices range from a single rose at $44 to its largest arrangement at almost $4,600. Because the flowers are dyed, you can choose from a variety of vibrant colors. And you do have to keep the flowers in the box they come in, but there are luckily a lot of different options for that too. One of the downsides is that Venus Et Fleur primarily sells roses, but that's also what makes it a great option for Mother's Day.
